TAILOR SHOP

Last month I was invited to the Levi's #TailorShop, at Sherway Gardens, to customize one of their iconic jean jackets. Since I love the brand's denim trucker, and had never been to the shop, I jumped at the opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind piece. I set out not knowing what to expect, but let's just say my mind was blown by the time I left.

Levi's introduced their #tailorshop concept back in November, first at Hudson's Bay on Queen Street, followed by Sherway Gardens (pictured above) and Square One. The #tailorshop offers a number of services ranging from branded pins and patches, to basic and euro hemming, as well as highly coveted customized distressing and embroidery.

The day I arrived at the shop, I was taken on a tour of the store and then stopped to meet the #tailorshop staff. Beyond being incredibly friendly and welcoming, the two superstars are extremely knowledgeable and very, VERY talented. I didn't know that I could ask for custom embroidery, and by custom, I mean literally almost anything (it helps if you have a picture to reference but not a deal breaker). When I was asked what I wanted, I ended up referencing some images I had previously saved to my phone (pictured below).

Let me be the first to tell you, if you're looking to get any custom embroidery done, I would highly recommend going to Sherway. Why? Maria! She is the masterful embroiderer who worked on my jacket. Maria is a fashion graduate from George Brown College who, upon graduating, stumbled into this rare, unique job opportunity with Levi's. Take a look at her work!

The best part, you don't even need an appointment. While some simple embroidery can be done same day within 30min, other more detailed and extravagant pieces may take a few days to get back to your closet. But trust me, it's well worth the wait!!!
